3. Emission Control
The metal casting process can generate various air pollutants, including particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These pollutants can have a negative impact on air quality and human health. To address this issue, we have installed state – of – the – art emission control systems in our production facilities.
For particulate matter, we use baghouse filters and electrostatic precipitators. These devices capture and remove dust and other solid particles from the exhaust gases before they are released into the atmosphere. Our baghouse filters have high collection efficiencies, typically above 99%, ensuring that the amount of particulate matter emitted is well below the regulatory limits.
To control sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides emissions, we have adopted low – sulfur fuels and installed flue gas desulfurization (FGD) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems. FGD systems remove sulfur dioxide from the flue gases by using chemicals to react with the sulfur dioxide and convert it into a solid by – product. SCR systems, on the other hand, reduce nitrogen oxides emissions by using a catalyst to convert them into nitrogen and water.
We also take measures to control VOC emissions. In our foundry, we use water – based coatings and adhesives instead of solvent – based ones, which significantly reduces the release of VOCs. Additionally, we have installed local exhaust ventilation systems to capture and treat any VOC – containing air emissions from our painting and finishing operations.
4. Sustainable Water Management
Water is an important resource in the metal casting process, used for cooling, cleaning, and dust suppression. However, water consumption and wastewater discharge can pose environmental challenges. To address these issues, we have implemented a comprehensive sustainable water management strategy.
We have installed water – recycling systems in our facilities to reuse water from cooling and cleaning processes. The recycled water is treated to remove contaminants and then reused in other production operations. This reduces our fresh water intake and minimizes wastewater discharge.
In addition to water recycling, we also take measures to reduce water pollution. We treat all our wastewater before discharging it into the environment. Our wastewater treatment plants use a combination of physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove heavy metals, suspended solids, and other pollutants from the wastewater. By ensuring that our wastewater meets the strict environmental standards, we protect local water resources and ecosystems.
5. Green Packaging
